Mãe perde o bebê para câncer infantil e agora desenha em pedras no túmulo do filho

Para manter viva a memória do filho e conscientizar sobre a grave enfermidade, ela pintou os personagens de desenho favoritos do bebê

A norte-americana Hannah Chamberlain, de Rhode Island, passou pelo pior pesadelo de qualquer mãe: ela perdeu o filho de um ano, Sean, para a leucemia. O bebê faleceu em março de 2019, após 8 meses de tratamento. Para que pudesse relembrá-lo de maneira especial em seu túmulo, Hannah pediu a um grupo de pintura local que desenhasse os personagens de desenho animado que Sean mais gostava nas pedras em torno do local.

"É realmente difícil visitar o túmulo do seu filho de 1 ano e aceitar que não vou mais acordar com a cara alegre dele às seis da manhã", disse Chamberlain. "Ver as pedras ajudará a manter sua memória viva e me lembrará sua vida e os bons tempos que tivemos.", completou a mãe.

A iniciativa não parou por aí, segundo Hannah, a ideia é trazer conscientização sobre o câncer infantil. Por isso ela pede que os cidadãos locais continuem pintando pedras como uma forma de manter viva a memória de Sean. 

"Cada pedra ajuda a aumentar a conscientização sobre o montante antiético e indecente de financiamento que a pesquisa em câncer pediátrico obtém", disse Chamberlain. "É realmente injusto e, se aumentar a conscientização, poderemos ajudar essas crianças que estão morrendo de câncer. Elas não podem se defender, então eu quero aumentar a conscientização possível, porque o que Sean passou não é justo."
