Saúde lança protocolo emergencial de vigilância e resposta à microcefalia

Até o último sábado (5), 1.761 casos suspeitos de microcefalia foram notificados em 422 municípios brasileiros. Os números foram divulgados nesta terça-feira (8) pelo Ministério da Saúde. Até o momento, de acordo com o novo balanço, 14 unidades federativas registram casos suspeitos da malformação.

Pernambuco permanece como o estado com o maior número de casos (804). Em seguida, estão Paraíba (316), Bahia (180), Rio Grande do Norte (106), Sergipe (96), Alagoas (81), Ceará (40), Maranhão (37), Piauí (36), Tocantins (29), Rio de Janeiro (23), Mato Grosso do Sul (9), Goiás (3) e Distrito Federal (um).

Foram notificados, ainda, 19 mortes de bebês com microcefalia e suspeita de infecção pelo vírus Zika, sendo sete no Rio Grande do Norte, quatro em Sergipe, dois no Rio de Janeiro, um no Maranhão, dois na Bahia, um no Ceará, um na Paraíba e um no Piauí. O ministério informou que os casos estão sendo investigados para confirmar a causa da morte.

Saúde lança protocolo emergencial de vigilância 

O Ministério da Saúde lançou nesta terça-feira (8) um protocolo emergencial de vigilância e resposta aos casos de microcefalia relacionados ao vírus Zika. O objetivo, segundo a pasta, é passar informações, orientações técnicas e diretrizes para profissionais de saúde e equipes de vigilância.

O documento contém a definição de casos suspeitos de microcefalia durante a gestação, o parto ou após o nascimento. Também traz critérios para a exclusão de casos suspeitos e apresenta um sistema de notificação e investigação laboratorial.

Há ainda orientações sobre como deve ser feita a investigação epidemiológica de casos suspeitos e sobre o monitoramento e análise dos dados. O protocolo também traz informações sobre o reforço do combate ao Aedes aegypti.
