Médicos sugerem aconselhamento genético antes do casal engravidar

O ator Dado Dolabella assumiu romance com a prima, Marina Dolabella, no réveillon. Porém, o ex-namorado de Luana Piovanni tem receio de ter filhos com problemas de saúde, devido ao grau próximo de parentesco. 

De acordo com o jornal Extra, a presidente da Sociedade Brasileira de Reprodução Assistida (SBRA), Hitomi Nakagawa, diz que as chances de um casal ter um filho com doenças hereditárias varia entre 3 e 5%. Quando o DNA dos pais é muito semelhante – caso de primos de primeiro grau, a taxa aumenta para 8%.      

Neste caso, alerta Nakagawa, o ideal é fazer um aconselhamento genético antes.  

A geneticista Michele Migliavacca, do Laboratório Exame, explica que é possível (e recomendado) avaliar a compatibilidade genética antes da reprodução – seja de casais de primos ou não.

''De maneira geral, há várias doenças cujos genes recessivos estão bastante disseminados na população'', aponta.

Os testes mais simples conseguem identificar se os pais são portadores de genes para os quatro problemas mais frequentes – fibrose cística, AME, distrofia de Duchenne e síndrome do X-Frágil – e os mais amplos podem rastrear cerca de 300 doenças.

A ciência, no entanto, pode colaborar com o amor. Pais que fazem o diagnóstico antecipado via painel genético têm a alternativa de realizar fertilização in vitro: quando os embriões que não apresentam a combinação de cromossomos recessivos são os escolhidos para a implantação no útero.
